About Me

hello

Hello!

This is about me! At 30, I’ve decided to start this blog to explore comfort zones, limiting beliefs and cultural differences. I was born in beautiful Mauritius so my thoughts and opinions are relative to having spent half my life in Mauritius and the other half in London. Let’s keep it simple; here are 8 bullet points about me to justify my crazy ways:

  • Love – My love, my inspiration and my biggest cheerleader, Lucas, convinced me to start this blog.
  • Family – My parents are the bravest people I know. My mum has taught me that ‘after rain comes sunshine.’ This simple expression displays great optimism and has helped me with many life decisions. My dad has taught me that I’m the only person who can guarantee my success and happiness.
  • Friends – I have been lucky to have an incredible circle of girls who I can proudly call my support system. They are a bunch of amazing ladies who have been there for me through thick and thin.
  • Language – I’m multilingual (English, French, Creole, Urdu/Hindi and can read Arabic). This may sound impressive but, in Mauritius, this skill is quite common.
  • Career – I’m a Car Sales Manager and, dare I say, a successful one. I’m sure you’re already wondering how I ended up in the male dominated motor trade.
  • Advanced PADI Scuba Diver – So I can dive down 30m in the ocean but I can barely swim.
  • Culture – Food, social habits, fashion, academic values, drive… We’ll be discovering all these aspects.
  • Travel – The world is a beautiful place. Since I was 25 I decided that I will visit at least one new country per year and experience their individual cultures. This has involved Italy, France, Jordan, the Netherlands, USA (New York, San Francisco, Vegas), Belgium, UAE (Dubai), Greece, Ireland, Hungary, India. I look forward to adding more to this list.

It’s easy to assume that the above makes an awesome life. Well, don’t be fooled because this is just how I see life… Blind Optimism! Through my blogs, I will be discussing the poverty I have endured, the lack of family acceptance and being unable to conform to what is considered ‘normal.’ So, I hope you have gathered that I feel sheer excitement when I take myself out of my comfort zone. I look forward to sharing my thoughts and experiences with you and, most importantly, I can’t wait to hear your opinion.

Here we go! 🙂
